12/25/2007: "Merry Cristmas"

I hope everyone’s Christmas was filled with special time with family and fun gifts! Ours certainly was. Seems like we spent most of the last couple days going from one family party to the next. It is so great to be with everyone and get a chance to catch up.

I think the best part is still watching the look on the kids’ faces when they open presents. There were some great traditional presents this year like a bow and arrow, balls, remote control airplane, clothes, and cash/gift certificates. As you might be able to tell from the picture, Nick and I received the best gift of all. Jeanette came in holding a beautiful seven week-old golden retriever puppy. He is so sweet and such a great surprise. We lost our 13-year-old golden this past year and it was a tough time. He pretty much helped raise both of our kids and was a big part of the family. So now we have a new addition.

Tomorrow we head for a family vacation in San Diego where my folks have rented a beach house. I am looking forward to five days of sitting by the ocean and catching up on some rest.

I wish for peace this New Year and hope all of you are healthy and happy.

Wonderful looking dog, you have there! Check out our dog's 2008 glasses - ziggyu.blogspot.com - Dogs sit still for such silliness for treats :-)

I keep reading your blog on a weekly basis but just haven't said "hi" lately. When I read Suzanne's note, I thought "shame on me!"

We are still talking about that darling puppy - it was so fun to be a part of that surprise - thanks for the tip on sleeping - hey Rock - I know someone who has a very difficult time sleeping and nothing seems to help - not melatonin, no prescription sleep aids - nothing (EXCEPT alcohol) - could you do a little research on that if you have time - even though they may be sleeping - I have heard that it is not good sleep and that there are many harmful effects - if you get time - thanks

I just wanted to wish you and your family a Merry Xmas. I may have been one of those "silent readers" in the background here for awhile, but please know my thoughts, wishes and prayers have always been with you. On a day like today when time with loved ones, exchanging gifts of the heart, counting blessings, and giving thanks are the focus of the day, I thought I could step up here smile

Merry Christmas Proutys. And more importantly wishes for a healthier new year that includes new hopes and realized dreams. God bless you all.
