05/08/2006: "You Give Me Fever"
I had mentioned earlier that Hyperthermia was one of the procedures they will be performing on me. I will go in today at 2:00pm for my second and final treatment of this process. I thought I would explain what they do. Last time, I went in at 2:00pm and didn’t wake until the next morning.
There were a total of three different doctors that either performed a physical or checked me over before the procedure. They wanted to make sure my lungs, heart and overall condition were good. Once cleared, I was ready to go into the surgical room and lay on the operating table. An IV is started and they begin anesthesia. They also administer a couple of steroids that keeps the brain from swelling (I don’t want to get a big head). Next, they hook me up to a computer that monitors my vitals and controls the blood machine.
Along your inner thigh are two major arteries. They tap into both of these with one being outflow and the other in. My blood is then circulated through the machine that begins to heat it. Slowly it is brought up to 108 degrees with the time and rate being controlled by the computer. This temperature is maintained for 60 to 90 minutes and then slowly brought back down.
The whole procedure takes about 5 hours. Afterwards, I am transferred to my bed where a nurse stays up and monitors my vitals throughout the night. I woke about 7:00am to see her smiling face.
A fever is our body’s response to viruses or abnormal proteins in the blood. Fever increases oxygen uptake and renders white blood cells more aggressive against bacteria, fungi or viruses. Normal cells can handle a fever and infected or cancer cells are weakened and die off because of the heat. Apparently, Hypocrites routinely buried patients in the desert sand to elevate their core body temperature in an attempt to cure disease. Different doctors over the past decades have seen tumors go into remission after the patient suffered a fever, both induced and naturally occurring.

Hi Rock,
First time blogin, hope I'm not too wordy.
Spoke to J this morning, so glad you two had a really nice visit. Alli was a peach, she slept all night Friday night. Nick had fun swimming in the Pool on Sat. Austin had a friend over and the boys had a long 4 some Yugio card game. They had lots of fun. Sounds like your on the home stretch now. We say our prayers for you every day and we can't wait to see your healthy smiling face soon. We miss you! A Bishop is saying a mass for you at Mom's church this week......she's so excited. BTW I purchased blood tests for us all tonight. See you soon. Love and hugs from everyone.

Hi Uncle Rock! I had a lot of fun with the kids this weekend,Nick is a getting to be quite the crack up. I wonder where he gets it? I rode your tractor and mowed the lawn for you, actually Allie mowed it. Its amazing how she can steer and cover her ears at the same time. She was great only had the one problem with no chips for breaksfast sorry I drew the line! She gave in later and had eggs and toast. Don't worry about your roses I trimed them only a little bit!
I know its hard to talk on the phone with the kids they are so easily distracted but know they miss you alot we can't wait until you come home!!!!

Hi Doug
It is great to hear your news from Mexico. Once again I am fascinated by hearing about your latest treatment. The theories and research behind the procedure sure sound valid. Between these interventions, the power of prayer and all of the good karma you have built up, I think you have it made! Love, Launi

Hi Doug,
Just wanted to check in and say hi. I'm so glad that you found Kevin Trudeau's book as intriguing as I did. I've started to live by many of his suggestions --especially now that I've been having digestive problems for the past 3 months! Their next step is to check my gall bladder..Kevin's words keep ringing in my ear, so Linda and I have both been doing some research on alternative remedies.
Anyway, I also wanted to tell you that I was truly touched by your blog about writing your son letters. That is such a wonderful idea, and I will be especially happy to hear that you will be handing the letters to him in person...year after year!
This treatment in Mexico is so interesting to hear about. Actually, everything you write about is bound to help many people give a second thought to their own health. I'm still debating over the wheatgrass...sounds SO yucky!
Stay strong & positive...take care! Looking forward to your next blogs!! ~Lisa Grundhoffer
